David Sorgato, internationally recognized as one of the leading experts and collectors of carpets and textiles of art, will open on November 28 the exhibition "Miao - Clothing And Jewelry of Guizhou" at the gallery in Milan.
The exhibition will be an excellent opportunity to admire and purchase textiles, clothes and jewelry of the Miao people elegantly exhibited in the rooms of the gallery, including furniture, silks and carpets of the Chinese Empire, dating from between 1700 and 1900.
The Miao people live primarily in southern China in the provinces of Hunan, Yunnan, c and Guangxi and is renowned for the production of ornaments and embroidered fabrics characterized by geometric patterns, flowers and animals typical of the local landscape.
The textile tradition, still well rooted, rooted in their ancient culture that recognizes the best clothes their most valuable asset in what identifies them as belonging to a specific group and also allows you to define the level of wealth of the family.
